FAQ

Weiss Schwarz Singapore League

The Singapore Game League System is a point scoring system which enables observers and players to be able to observe their own rankings in Singapore as a region.

Official Tournaments that would apply to the league table is as follows: monthly shop tournament, Trial deck, or any other tournament except for title cup.

Official Tournaments are tournaments that:

have to be applied and approved by the Singapore Weiss Schwarz gaming committee and
have an official judge judging at said tournament.

Official judges are judges who have taken the judge lesson and judge test conducted by the Genesis Frontier Game Division and is deemed suitable to be a judge.

Please note that a player who participate in one tournament cannot participate in another tournament of the same name by the sanctioned shops (for example if James participated in shop A’s monthly shop tournament, he cannot go to shop B’s monthly shop tournament)

Tabulation of scores would be as follows:

1^st place in a monthly shop tournament, Trial deck or any other tournament except for title cup : 4 points
2^nd place in a monthly shop tournament, Trial deck or any other tournament except for title cup : 3 points
3^rd place in a monthly shop tournament, Trial deck or any other tournament except for title cup : 2 points
4^th place in a monthly shop tournament, Trial deck or any other tournament except for title cup :1 point

The points would be tabulated from February onwards and will be standardized for all local official tournaments by Genesis Frontier.
Points will be used as a gauge for invitation to the end of year tournament qualifiers.
Invitation to end of year tournament qualifiers also includes other criteria, which will be released later.

Q. Card abilities which requires you to choose the card from the top of the deck and add it to your stock, can you look at that card?

A. No, that card remains face down when you add it to your Stock.

Q. Can the ability BACKUP be used even if colour requirements are not met?

A. Yes. Since BACKUP is an ability, it has nothing to do with the card colour.

Q. How does deck Refresh work?

A. When your deck reaches 0 cards, even if it is in the middle of the resolution of an ability, at this point, put all cards in your Waiting Room to your deck slot and shuffle your new deck. After doing so, finish the current ability resolution, put 1 card on the top of your clock from your deck following the rules.

Q. The opponent is at Level 3 with 6 cards in his Clock. From the top of his deck, the first card revealed is a normal card, then the second card revealed is a Climax card. At the point where the opponent is damaged at the 1st damage, does the opponent lose?

A. No. During the situation of Damage Cancellation, no actual damage is dealt in the process. Level up process is only resolved after resolution of damage.

Q. When placed on a Border by the ability of a card, does Automatic abilities that trigger upon coming into play activate?

A. Auto abilities that do not fulfil the requirement stated will not activate.

Q. During a Front attack, the opposing Character card leaves the field back to the opponent's hand due to an ability. Does that attack becomes a Direct attack?

A. No, this is still a Front attack. Even though there is the absence of the opponent Character card, there is no increment of Soul. Your opponent can still activate Counter cards. However, there is no Power comparison of Character cards.

Q. During a side attack, the opposing Character leaves the field back to the opponent's hand due to an ability. Does that attack becomes a Direct attack?

A. No, this attack is still a Side attack. During the Side attack the Level of the opponent Character card is still deducted, there is no change to the Soul calculation during Damage Step.

Q. What will happen when a Character card becomes 0 Power or below?

A. It is sent to the Waiting Room.

Q. Can i check the opponent's Deck, Clock or other card numbers in his possession?

A. Yes. The number of cards can be counted upon opponent's consent.

Q. Can you use Stock in any order you want?

A. No, you can only use Stock from the top of your Stock in that order.

A. No. Since the contents of the Stock is not disclosed information, you cannot look at the contents of your Stock.

A. Yes, you can return that card from your Waiting Room to your hand once you have paid the Cost.

Q. With regards to the Alarm abilities of the above cards, will Damage be dealt first, or would the battle result be dealt first?

A. Damage is dealt first. Putting the appropriate Damage to the Clock slot will be dealt during Damage step. Battle result will only be determined at Battle step, which after Damage step.

Q. There is only 1 card left at my deck and i triggered a card with the Pool(Golden Bag) Icon. What is the sequence of adding Stock as well as deck refresh?

A. First, create your deck. Following that, put a card from your top deck to your Stock, then put that triggered card to your Stock after that. Finally, as the last step of Refresh, put 1 card from the top of your deck to your Clock.

Q. There is only 1 card left in the deck and i triggered a Comeback (Gate) Icon. Do i Refresh my deck or retrieve my Character card first?

A. First, create your deck. Following that, resolve the ability of the Triggered icon, and retrieve a Character card from your Waiting Room, even when there are no Character cards in your Waiting Room. Then, put the Triggered card to your Stock. Finally, as the last step of Refresh, put 1 card from the top of your deck to your Clock.

Q. Will i lose if i have no cards in my Deck?

A. No, when you have no cards in your Deck, perform a Deck Refresh. When you have no cards in your deck, put your Waiting Room facing down, shuffle it, then create your new deck. After that, put the top card from your Deck to your Clock. However, When there are no cards neither your Deck or Waiting Room, you will lose the game.

Q. When i am supposed to draw 2 cards, there is only 1 card left in my deck. How do i resolve this?

A. When you run out of cards, flip your Waiting Room around and shuffle it, then create your new Deck. Following that, draw your last remaining card. Finally, as the last step of Refresh, put 1 card from the top of your deck to your Clock.

Q. During the course of determining Damage, i have no cards left in my Deck. What should i do?

A. When you run out of cards, flip your Waiting Room around and shuffle it, then create your new deck. Following that, continue determining your Damage. After resolving the Damage, put 1 card from the top of your deck to your Clock.

Q. Outside of Encore step, when Character cards are put to the Waiting Room from your Stage, can i still use 「Encore」 to return the Character card to my Stage?

A. Yes you can. Ouside of your Encore step, at any point of time when a Character card is put from your Stage to your Waiting Room, you can announce that you would like to perform an Encore and activate it.

Q. Can i use cards during my opponent's turn?

A. No, you cannot use cards during your opponent's turn. Exceptions are only cards with Counter Icon and this is only true when your opponent performs a Front Attack as stated and only 1 card can be used at any one time.

Q. During my Clock Phase, can i choose to not put a card to my Clock?

A. Yes you can. However, if you do not put a card to your Clock, you may not draw the extra two cards.

A. Yes you may do so. There is no rule in this game which do not allow you to put more then 1 Character card of the same name on the Stage.

A. Yes, your opponent will still sustain damage even if there are Character cards in your opponent's Stage.

A. Yes you can. You can choose from 0 to 2 cards for the ability.

A. The requirements of Continuous ability ALARM is fulfilled, thus, the ability will follow through as usual.

A. No, in the cases where Character cards are not put in the Waiting Room, you cannot activate Encore.

A. No, in this game, Character cards do not receive a penalty to their power after they battle. As per normal, only the Character cards with 5000 power is put to Reverse.

A. Due to the damage, reform the deck first, then put the damage card into the Clock and Level Up, then deal 1 damage to your Clock for refreshing your deck. If the damage is Cancelled, deal the deck refresh penalty and Level Up.

Q. There are 6 cards in the Clock and 1 in the deck. During the Clock phrase, 1 card is put to Clock, what happens?

A. With 7 cards in the Clock, Level Up. Then, draw 1 of the 2 cards due to the effect of Clock Phase, reform the library then draw the 2nd card. Then put the top card from your deck into the Clock as penalty for performing a deck Refresh.

A. When there are 7 cards in the Clock and no cards in the deck at the same time, the turn player chooses the order in which to resolve them (Level Up/reforming the library). After performing Level Up and performing deck Refresh, put the top card of the deck into the Clock as penalty for performing deck Refresh.

A. Yes, unless stated otherwise, you can play Character cards regardless of colour and Level restrictions in such situations.

A. Cards go the Resolution area when BRAINSTORM (集中) is carried out. Thus you would refresh the deck when it runs out. Subsequently, continue to carry out Brainstorm (集中). After that, cards in the resolution area would move to the Waiting Room, and the effect(s) would be carried out. Lastly, due to the deck being refreshed, one card from the deck would be placed into the clock slot.
